Tacolicious MONDAYS in NOVEMBER benefit Escondido Elementary -- Mondays: 11/18, 11/25   November is Escondido Elementary's beneficiary month for the Tacolicious School Project which means Escondido gets 7.5% of proceeds from Tacolicious, Escondido and Nixon are partnered for the month of November.

Noviembre es el mes en el cual Tacolicious School Project beneficia a Escondido Elementary. Esto significa que Escondido recibe el 7,5% de nuestros ingresos del restaurante asociado. Escondido y Nixon se han asociado para el mes de noviembre.

Here is how:

●  DINE-IN or TAKE-OUT food all-day and support Escondido. (Doordash, Grubhub, and other third-party deliveries do not qualify.)

●  MONDAY CATERING - Bring the School Project to you! Support your school by having a taco bar delivered to your next meeting or event on one of your Mondays. To qualify for delivery, orders must total $500 or more. Email to book your delivery.

●  MONDAY PARTIES - Host a large group in any of our private dining rooms! You must book ahead through and mention that the party is to support the TSP.

Bake Sale Fundraiser For Kids in Foster Care!

When: Wednesday, 11/20/2019 from 2-4pm.

Where: In front of the main office

The fundraiser for Kids in Foster Care is an important way to engage and connect Escondido kids with their community while supporting development of healthy self-esteem through service to others.  The event takes place near the holidays, which can be a particularly difficult time for kids in the Foster Care system.  All proceeds are donated to the Mattress Firm Foster Kids Program, which helps provide local children with clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and toys."



Escondido Night at Maples Pavillion -- Come join your friends, family, and teachers on Thursday, Nov 21 at 7 pm, to see your Stanford Men’s Basketball team!  As a special treat, your favorite PE teacher Mr. D will be the game’s honorary captain and will be sitting on the bench helping coach the team to a victory!  Tickets are only $11 which includes tickets to the game, Stanford SWAG (poms, buttons, etc…) and lots of time on the jumbotron **Drop off checks made out to Mindy Haase in front office by Wed, Nov 20th or Paypal (this is a fundraiser for 5th Grade Graduation events). Escondido Celebrates Black History Month 

February 2020 

Please join us in planning this year’s activities for Black History Month. 

Last year we had a remarkable agenda of celebratory events that included the following:

Author and illustrator  Arree Chung  read from his book Mixed 

Hosted the African Dance Troupe Oriki Theater Oriki Performance
EPA Mayor Lisa Gauthier read to the students
Stanford acapella group Everyday People performed for the school

Volunteers are Needed to Help Plan for this Year’s Activities.

First meeting is a conference call scheduled for Thursday, November 21 @ 6pm

BE SAFE BE SEEN During Autumn/Winter Commutes At times near sunrise and sunset, drivers may be blinded temporarily by the brightness of the sun low on the horizon. This can be a particularly dangerous situation during morning and evening commute time when many people are sharing the road. YEARBOOK PHOTOS NEEDED---Do you have some favorite photos from this school year? The 2019-2020 Yearbook Team needs them! Silicon Valley Boychoir enrollment  

Nov 12-30 by appointment, 600 Homer Av.,Palo Alto

Auditions for the January semester will be held at the choir's rehearsal location near downtown Palo Alto (600 Homer Ave). Open to 2nd-5th grade boys meeting twice weekly.  High school and middle school boys with choral experience may audition for upper levels rehearsing once a week.  SVB also performs for local events including appearances with Stanford University Symphonic Chorus and Orchestra, West Bay Opera, Schola Cantorum of Mountain View, and singing the national anthem at sporting events.  Email or visit


Play Palooza – The Children’s Theatre Ten Minute Playwriting Contest  

Submission Deadline:  Friday Dec 20, 2019 12 am

The Children’s Theatre is pleased announce the 2019-20 Play Palooza Ten Minute Playwriting contest, giving young writers an excellent opportunity to showcase talents.  Students can submit original work in three categories:  Elementary School (3rd-5th grade), Middle School (6th-8th grade), and High School (9th-12th grade). Winning plays receive a staged reading at the Children’s Theatre, and winning playwrights receive prizes donated by the Friends of the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre.  Submissions can be submitted electronically to

Palo Alto High School Cheer and Dance Teams Fundraiser-Gizdich Ranch Pies! 

This holiday season, the Paly Dance & Cheer teams are selling farm-fresh pies from Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville. The Apple, Two Berry, and/or Pumpkin pies are $20 each, or 3 for $55.  Pickup in person outside of the Tower Building at Paly on Monday, December 9th from 3-7pm, or we can deliver for an extra $5.
