Hello Escondido Families,
Science Fair is April 16th!! - We've extended the deadline because we need more sign-ups! Thanks to those of you who have registered your child - all registered children are guaranteed to receive a Science Board to display their work on Science Fair Night.
We would love to see more participation and have decided to extend the deadline by one week to Mar 9. Current registration stands at 40 - last year we had 150 at this time. If you’re interested in having your child participate please register with the link below:
About the Science Fair & Family Science Night
The Science Fair offers a chance for Escondido students to do a science project and share it with the community. All students are encouraged to participate, even our kinders! Projects do not need to be sophisticated or fancy, just something your student wants to explore, discover and share.
We encourage students to learn about and use the scientific method by doing an experiment, but it's fine if your student prefers to make something (demonstrating basic scientific or engineering ideas), or to research information about a scientific topic. It's not a competition, and working with a partner(s) is fine. Parents may certainly assist, but please keep the project student-led! Projects will be on display at school April 16-17.
Noon Science Program Every Weds
We would also encourage your child to participate in the Noon Science Program in the MP room every Wednesday at lunch where grad students from Stanford have set up hands on Science Experiments. Last week they worked with Electricity and Magnetism
