Hello Families!
 
What another busy time we had at Fairmeadow last week!

  • MONDAY : Our thanks to our fabulous Volunteers who stepped in to help in both the Kinder and Main yard tables for our very popular Lego Tables! If you would have 45 mins on a Monday to supervise the kids having fun please sign up HERE.
 
  • MONDAY - FRIDAY : Our Book Fair at Fairmeadow was a great success with thanks to all of YOU our parents, students, staff, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and carers who came and supported our fair!! 
    • We were so grateful to our own Librarian Michelle Brown who created special Summer Reading Book Lists per grade level and also to our Principal Mrs.Wong who held a story time at our evening Fair on Thursday.
    • As always our book fair wouldn’t have been possible without the help from our volunteers and our AMAZING BookFair coordinator Soumaya Arfi!
 
  • WEDNESDAY : We held our General Meeting where we took care of some housekeeping items and had a great presentation from Mr.Arnout Boelens from Safe Routes to School. We announced our slate for our new incoming board and we had an update from our Principal. Our VP of Programs Anjali J shared a special presentation with a PTA recap of our past 2021/2022 school year. We will host a Special General Meeting on Thursday May 26th @ 7pm to vote in our new Board. Here is our slate :

    • Executive VP : Sonika Singal
    • VP of Programs : Estelle Zhao

  • FRIDAY & SATURDAY : We made a great start to our Mural on our library wall! Our thanks to our Principal, our mural designer and to the fabulous volunteers who showed up early Saturday morning to help out! We still have to add further details to the design, but be sure to check out our work in progress this week on campus.

🥳FUNDRAISING PARTIES: 
Our thanks to all the parent and teacher hosts for creating such memorable and fun events for our students while supporting and raising funds our school! We just have a few parties left!

  • Congrats to our Fairmeadow Reserved PTA Parking Spot Winner, Ted O, who will have the convenience of parking close to the front office starting on the first day of school from August 11 2022- December 22, 2022!
 
🛍SPECIAL PIN FUNDRAISER :  
So far we have raised over $300 for PTA through this fundraiser huge thanks to Afshan S for organizing! There are just 50 pins left, so hurry if you would like to purchase these special one of a kind mementos!
  • Keep as a memento of your time at Fairmeadow if you are a current Firebird, a graduating 5th grader or family, or you could give it as a gift to an older sibling, a friend, an alumni, a teacher or staff member.

🙋🏻VOLUNTEER : 
  • Noon Sports Prep : If you have 30 minutes to spare on a Monday at 11:00am for the next 3 weeks, we are looking for a volunteer to line the field for the Capture the Flag games. Please sign up HERE.
  • Noon Tables : If you have 45 minutes to spare on a Monday 12-12:45pm to supervise our very popular Lego tables in either the Kinder or the Main yards. Please sign up HERE.
  • Garden Club : If you have 50 minutes to spare on a Friday 11:55am-12:45pm to supervise activities and crafts in our Fairmeadow garden. Please sign up HERE.
 
🗺FAIRMEADOW INTERNATIONAL NIGHT :
We are so happy that we will be able to host our hugely popular and fun International Night again on campus on Friday, May 20th 5:30-7:30PM! We are so lucky to have such a diverse school and this event is where we celebrate all our fabulous Fairmeadow families(students & staff alike) traditional foods, culture and crafts! Please see further information attached below, with thanks to Swati G for coordinating this big event!

Fairmeadow International Night 2022 - A celebration of Diversity
 
Hello Firebird families, 
We are excited to announce that International Night is back in person this year - Friday May 20, 5:30-7:30 PM. 
 
This fun event is put together by parents, students, teachers and staff of our wonderful Fairmeadow community and is a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and traditions. Bring your family and sign up to help with bringing a dish or hosting a table.
