November 17, 2020

Dear Safe Start Families,

As you may have read in the notification from Superintendent Merritt, effective Monday, November 23, P-CCS will pivot to a fully-remote learning environment for all students in our early childhood, elementary, special education, and post-secondary programs, with a planned return to in-person learning for these programs on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Included below is the SAFE START REMOTE INSTRUCTIONAL SCHEDULE that we will follow while we are out for this planned pause of in-person instruction.  Please note that this schedule mirrors our current in-person hybrid model.  With only a short time before the end of the semester and our targeted return to in-person learning, we thought it would be best to continue with a familiar schedule for consistency.

The students assigned to the BLUE cohort will log in for live instruction via video conference in the morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the students assigned to the GREEN Cohort will log in at 1:15 p.m. for their live instruction via video conference.  During the live instruction blocks in the morning and in the afternoon, the teacher may also include some time to step away from the screen for a movement break or some independent practice.  When your child is not engaged in the  live instruction via video conferencing, they will continue to use Canvas to access their independent learning activities as they have done for the past several weeks.

You can expect to receive more information about  both the live instruction via video conferencing and  the independent work time (asynchronous)  from your child’s teacher in the coming days.
