Information on Important Calendar Change for P-CCS Elementary Families

P-CCS Families:

We want to make sure you are notified of an important calendar change that affects the next two weeks for our elementary students and families.

The half-days that were originally scheduled for Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22 will be moved to Thursday, January 14 and Friday, January 15 for both elementary Safe Start and elementary Virtual Academy. This decision has been made to maximize the in-person time for elementary Safe Start students during the first week they return to in-person learning, which begins on Tuesday, January 19, in our previously-implemented hybrid model (Blue and Green Cohorts).

Below is a summary of the changes, which are also reflected on this document (also included below) for easy reference:

  • Thursday, January 14 and Friday, January 15 are now half-days for all K-5 students.

    • These will be fully-remote learning half-days for all elementary Safe Start and Virtual Academy students. All students will log in with their teachers at 9 a.m. for a live group lesson followed by asynchronous lessons (independent learning), for the remainder of the morning block.

  • Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22, K-5 Safe Start students will follow the in-person half day Blue / Green Cohort schedule

    • These will be in-person learning days for all Safe Start students in our previously-implemented hybrid model, with our Blue and Green Cohorts each having half-days of in-person learning as per the normal full-day schedule below.

      • Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the Blue Cohort will attend school in-person from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Young 5s students in the Blue Cohort will attend from 8:40 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.

      • Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the Green Cohort will attend school in-person from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Young 5s students in the Green Cohort will attend from 1:10 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.

  • For elementary Virtual Academy students, January 21-22 will be full days of learning as per a regular full-day schedule.

If you have any additional questions, please contact your building principal or program leader.

Thanks for your continued support of P-CCS!
