After recent discussions with our municipal Clerks concerning logistics and Election Day details for Tuesday, March 10, a decision has been made to close school for students for a full day on March 10 as opposed to the initially announced half-day.
We will use a Forgiveness Day from the state to waive students attending without having to make up instructional hours.
We did consider this as an option originally but felt that we could manage student needs as well as the Election Day requirements at the same time. New information from the Clerks regarding anticipated early voter turnout led us to reevaluate the previous plan. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but feel this decision is best for our students, staff, and the community.
Student safety and well being remains the number one priority of Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.
Wednesday, March 11 will remain a half-day as scheduled.
