Did you know that an astonishing 1 in 9 people turn to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano each month to help keep food on their table? Amid the pandemic crisis, the Food Bank is facing an increase of 40%-50% in terms of both people and the amount of food needed.
The Foothill Middle School community is joining forces with the City of Walnut Creek Community Service Day on Saturday, October 10 in an all-out effort to help stock our local food pantry. Let's all do what we can to help our community!
Want to help?
DONATE NON-PERISHABLE FOOD: We will be collecting food outside Foothill Middle School from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 10. Come through the drive through and a team of awesome Foothill volunteers will unload your donations for a "touchless" donation process. We recommend donating healthy, nutrient-dense, nonperishable food that you would like to eat! Please do not donate glass containers, open or partially-used products, alcohol, or foods more than 1 year past their “best-by” date. Click here to see the most needed foods.
CONTRIBUTE TO THE VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVE: Donate nutritious food without lifting a can! Both food and funds are important to the work to end hunger. With special deals and bulk distribution, the Food Bank is able to stretch your financial donations much further than when you pay retail. Donate directly to the Food Bank by making an online donation to the Walnut Creek Community Food Drive team. All amounts are greatly appreciated because every $1 provides 2 meals!
VOLUNTEER: We need a crew of volunteers to help collect donations of food on Saturday, October 10. Shifts from 8:30-10:30 AM and 10:30 AM -12:30 PM. Sign up here!
