Earth Week
Mon, Apr 22 - Fri, Apr 26
Frank Otis Elementary
EARTH WEEK IS APRIL 22-26
Did you know that more than 8 MILLION TONS of plastic are dumped into the oceans every year? And more than 4,000 plastic bottles are used every SECOND? And 50% of all plastic is single use - plastics have an average useful lifetime of 12 MINUTES.

This Earth Week (yes, at Otis we love the earth so much we celebrate Earth Day all week!) we are concentrating on reusing, reducing, and recycling plastics to keep them out of our bay and oceans. We'll have a lot of fun activities planned for our kids and families. We'll send out more information as we get closer to Earth Week, but here's a sneak peak at what's to come:
  • Plastic bag collection
  • Neighborhood cleanup
  • Shoe Drive
  • 'Green' Hoot Hoots for putting trash in the correct bins
  • Terracycle donation contest
  • Door decorating contest
Thanks for being such a supportive and earth-friendly community!
