Dear Otis Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Otis Elementary for the 2018-18 school year! Teachers and staff have been putting in countless hours getting everything just right for all of our young owls. It is our mission to create a welcoming, safe, joyful environment where students thrive cognitively and socio-emotionally.
We have wonderful new teachers who have joined our team.
  • 1st grade: Monica Dortch and Michelle McNamara
  • 5th grade: Kristen Galvez and Susan Smith
  • Music: Anna Haley
  • P.E.: Marc Pence
Start of School Student Release Times:
During the first week of school students will be released early:
  • Kindergarten students are released at 11:40 a.m. through September 7th.
  • All students in Grades 1 through 5 are released at 1:50 p.m. through August 24th.
As long weather permits, we will be eating lunch at Krusi Park. Please remind your young owls that this is a privilege, and we must all do our part to keep the park clean. If you will be purchasing school lunch you can prepay at The front office does not handle lunch money.

Water Bottle Refill Stations
I am so pleased to report that we have two new water bottle refilling stations at Otis. One is located by the front office. The other, a very thoughtful and generous gift from last year's 5th grade class, is in the MPR. The new water stations will help us all stay hydrated and reduce waste. Please check them out and fill your reusable water bottle!
Drop off and Pick Up
    • Adult supervision does not start until 8:10 a.m. each morning. There is no supervision after school.
    • Kindergarten students are dropped off at the Kindergarten yard.
    • Bikes, scooters, and skateboards must be walked along the blacktop. Bike racks are located near the MPR and on Court Street.

Meet the New Owl!
Our school mascot, Otis D. Owl, got a makeover this summer. Make sure to check out our new shirts with the updated and awesome Owl logo! Don't forget to wear your Otis swag on Fridays to show school spirit!
On behalf of the Otis staff, here is to a great year!
Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Your Best!
