Hello Falcon Families!
🍂 Happy October! We’re celebrating culture, community, and creativity this month — with Heritage Month events, the Book Fair, and Spooktacular fun ahead!
🎉 Color Walk Success!
The 10th Annual Walkathon was a huge success thanks to our amazing students, teachers, families, and community! Together, we blew past our $45,000 goal — raising $55,986 as of October 6! 🥳
A big thank-you to all the parents who volunteered, donated, and cheered us on — we couldn’t have done it without you. 💙
To celebrate, students will enjoy a Popsicle Dance Party on Monday, October 27 at 2:15 pm, and parents are welcome to join the fun!
🚴♀️ Family Bike Ride – Sunday, October 19th | Push-off at 10am

Join us for a Franklin Falcons Family Bike Ride!
We’ll meet at Boardsports (Westline Dr. & Shore Line Dr.) and pedal together to the USS Hornet, through Jane Sweeney Park, and finish at Franklin Park.
🍦 An ice cream truck will be waiting for us at the park after the ride — please bring cash if you’d like to purchase a frozen treat!
All ages and riding levels welcome — let’s roll, Falcons! 💙🦅
📚✨ The Book Fair is Almost Here!
Get ready, Franklin Falcons — our Literati Book Fair lands in the Media Center Oct. 20–25! Every class will visit during their Media Center time, and families can shop after school or during Spooktacular on Saturday 10/25 (4–7pm)!
💳 Easy Peasy Shopping:
Grab a Literati gift card on the [Franklin Book Fair website] — it’s quick, safe, and means no money to carry to school. (Just don’t forget to add a little extra for tax!) Cash and credit also welcome.
🎁 Share the Book Love:

It’s Time for the Spooktakular!

The Franklin Spooktacular is on Saturday, October 25th from 4 to 7PM. This Halloween party is one night only–do not miss it!
This year's Spooktacular will feature the Haunted Hallway, Games (with prizes!), Arts & Crafts, Professional Halloween Photographs, the Cake Walk, UNDEAD music by parent group That Dad Band, and the legendary Candy Cannon. All on top of it being the closing night for the Book Fair!
Doors open at 4:00 PM and the evening's schedule is as follows:
4:00 - 6:30 Haunted Hallway (second floor)
Arts & Crafts in the Multi-Purpose Room
Carnival Games on the blacktop, near Room 15
Photo Booth on the blacktop, near the picnic tables
Book Fair in the Media Center
Food Trucks on Paru Street
4:30 - 5:30 Cake Walk on the blacktop
6:00 - 6:30 Live Performance by That Dad Band
7:00 Candy Cannon
This event is open to the entire family and free except for purchases made at the food trucks.
Donations through our Amazon wish list need be made soon! Spooktacular is early this year which means we need donations with enough lead time so we don't double purchase.
We need LOTS of volunteers to make this event successful. Please look out for volunteer sign-up opportunities for parents and middle & high school students coming through Konstella soon! Please get in touch with Spooktacular chairs Andrea (Annie) Gregg or Greg Nielsen via Konstella.
We can’t wait to see your costumes! Please avoid costumes that are offensive based on culture, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, physical appearance, disabilities, or socio-economic status. And no weapons with your costumes. For further guidance and context, see this NPR article.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
