Welcome back! Now on to the final stretch of the school year - but first: Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4 - 8. 🎉 These amazing people help make Franklin a special place every single day. Let's shower them with appreciation with: door decorations, break room treats and more.

🚪Door Decorations (Volunteers Needed)

An annual tradition, in the days prior to Teacher Appreciation week our community decorates the doors of all the teachers and staff so that when they arrive to work on Monday May 4 they will have a fun surprise on their door.

Teacher Doors - refer to your room parent(s), offer to help if able.

Door Decor Tips: 
  • Most doors are 79”L x 34”W.  The door handles are approximately 35” from the bottom. Most handles are on the right side of the door but please check your door because some are on the left.
  • There are large rolls of paper that can be used for the background of your door decor - they are slightly wider than most of the doors. It is best to use a piece longer than the door so that you can wrap the paper over the top of the door. The rolls of paper can be found in the basement hallway. Stairs to the basement are located near the front entrance to the school across from the multipurpose room.
  • The decorations don't have to be expensive or excessive, they can be as simple as markers and cut-out construction paper shapes! Please work on creating your door decorations at home, and have them (mostly) complete before installation day. Up to you if you want to involve students or not, but most kids love to decorate.
  • Things to bring: Clear packing tape, scissors, and a step stool. Please do not use duct tape.
  • PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DOOR SIZE TO MAKE SURE YOUR DECORATIONS WILL FIT.
When to Hang Your Door Decorations: There are two main opportunities to decorate doors. Read below:
  • Friday, May 1 - after school  
  • Sunday, May 3 - During the Science Festival — Doors will be available to decorate during the Science Fair from 1:00 - 5:00pm.
