Join us for Franklin's 4th annual Science Festival on Saturday, May 3 from 2-4pm on the school playground! Science Festivals are a fun, family-friendly event that spark passion for STEM through activities and experiments for BOTH students and their families. We will have hands-on experiments and a science fair showcasing the student experiments! This is a free event for all Franklin families.

This year's Festival will have two components:

1. At-Home Projects. Students will have an optional opportunity to showcase an experiment that allows them to Collect, Observe, Model, Experiment, or Invent something of their choosing. Students who chose to work on a science project at home will prepare a tri-fold to showcase their work/findings at the Festival. Students can purchase a tri-fold on their own or pick one up in the morning during drop-off this Friday the 18th, or at the school's office. Instructions for the at-home projects can be found here.

Students that complete an At-Home Project will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize during the Festival!

2. Hands-On Experiments. On the day of the festival, students will conduct hands-on experiments under the guidance of parent volunteers. In order to make this a successful event, we need lots of volunteers to staff the tables and lead students through the science demonstrations. Please signup to help here.

In addition to the above there will also be:

  • An ice cream truck if you want to purchase a sweet treat
  • Tunes by DJ Dad Bod
  • Spiritwear for sale

We look forward to seeing you there! Questions? please contact Ann Miyashiro through email ann_m@franklinpta.org

Please note: This is not a drop-off event. Students must be supervised by a caregiver, but we think adults will have fun participating too!

This event is made possible by a grant the National PTA and the Bayer USA Foundation awarded to our PTA to host a STEM + Families Science Festival!
