Dear GMIS Families,

On the evening of Wednesday, May 27th from 7:30 pm - 9 pm, we welcome Marcilie Smith Boyle back for a fun, informative, and engaging Zoom workshop just for parents!

Marcilie is a life and leadership coach with an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BA from Dartmouth College and a CPCC from The Coaches Training Institute. Last May, she shared her knowledge and expertise in a memorable event focused on positive parenting tips and techniques. You can learn more about her work on her website: Working Parenting: Coaching for Authentic Success in Work & Life.

This year, we wanted to change things up a bit by having parents decide on the topic they'd most like to learn about. There is a limitless number of topics and areas of interest, so to help make the decision a bit easier, Marcilie has provided a curated list of favorites from which to choose.

  •  How Do I Get My Kids To Listen? – How to get your kids to listen (the first time.)

  • Holding Limits Firmly, but not Sternly – real life examples of what being both kind and firm at the same time looks and sounds like in heated moments.

  • The Trouble with Consequences – Learn how to design consequences that are helpful, not hurtful and why Jane Nelsen, author of Positive Discipline recommends “no more logical consequences (at least hardly ever)!”

Finally, given this year's unique circumstances, part of the evening's program will include facilitated small group breakout sessions for parents to connect on parenting struggles during the COVID crisis.

Please let us know if you will be attending and what you'd most like to learn about by tomorrow Thursday, May 14th @ 5 pm using the link below:

Best wishes for continued safety, health, and happiness! We look forward to spending the evening with you all.

With gratitude,
