A Letter from Ms. King

Ms. King has had such a huge impact at GMIS, teaching all of our kids in Bamboo. We are sad that she will not be returning in the fall. We will miss her, and wish her all the best!

Below is a letter from Ms. King, written to our families at GMIS:

Dear GMIS parents,

I am writing to let you know that I will not be returning to GMIS next year.  A different opportunity has presented itself, and I am looking forward to focusing on my growth as a teacher in a different environment.

Working at GMIS has exposed me to the Chinese culture in a fascinating way in which few other situations could do. I came as an intern 6 years ago, having worked with many children, just not in a Montessori setting. I have learned invaluable lessons and teaching tidbits from my colleagues who are now my friends. I will definitely continue to use what I have learned.

This parent community has been welcoming and supportive of the teachers. Educating your children has been a partnership. I have loved being with your children dearly. I have shared your love and pride as we witnessed their learning and progress. I have loved watching them grow and, as they graduate, teaching their siblings! I will miss their hugs, daily hellos and laughs at my Chinese pronunciations.

I’m so glad to have had this opportunity and promise to visit. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Love, Ms King
