Let the Art Auction Begin!
Fri, Jun 26 5:06pm

GMIS Families,

Earlier this month, we announced the official cancellation of our annual Spring Fling event but, with a promise to preserve an element of the in-person experience, through the hosting of an online auction showcasing original, one-of-a-kind works of art produced by our children.

Today, we are pleased to share that the auction is now live and can be accessed here, GMIS Online Art Auction 2020. On the site, you will be able to browse and bid on all of the extraordinary works of art brought to life by our children with the creative and supportive guidance of our beloved teachers and amazing parent volunteers.

This year's finished pieces set a new high bar, and are especially impressive as teachers and parents continued to work during the school's closure to add the finishing touches. Thank you again for all your time, effort, and creative energy, and a special thanks to Patty Benson (Ander, Plum) for bringing this all together for our inaugural online auction!

Now a few instructions and ground rules:

  • When you see a piece you would like to place a bid on, click on the blue "Bid Now" button below.
  • The site will ask you to register, which you can do by providing your name and email address.
  • Bids for all featured art will start at $200 and can be made in any amount so long as it's done in $25 increments.
  • When the clock strikes midnight on Tuesday, June 30th, the auction will come to a close and the highest bidder will be notified at the email used to register to the site. We will also be in contact to confirm and arrange payment via Paypal, Venmo or Check.

And with that, let the auction begin! As a final reminder, 100% proceeds will go towards end-of-year teacher appreciation and classroom gifts. Should you have any questions about the art, using the site, or about the auction process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by email here.

Again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to today's graduating students and their families. We will miss you dearly but wish nothing but the best as you continue on your journey in education, in life, and the world beyond. For returning families, we look forward to staying connected over the Summer as we navigate our way back in the Fall through regular communication, discussion, sharing of information, and hopefully a few CDC compliant playdates as well. ;)

With gratitude,
GPO
