HOLIDAY TOY & CLOTHING DRIVE Please help make this holiday season a little brighter for Glendale students and their families who are struggling with though economic times.  Please bring a NEW and UNWRAPPED, non-violent, age-appropriate toy or new clothing item (adults and children sizes).  PLEASE no used toys, books, or clothing, and no battery-operated items.

 

Donations can be taken directly to the office or sent to school with students.  We will also take donations at the drive-thru lanes each morning. Let’s spread the love and warmth of Glenoaks Elementary to the families in our community who are in need.  Every single one of your donations, great or small, means the world to these families.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life this holiday season. 

 

HONORARY SERVICE AWARDS NOMINATIONS Each year at the Founder’s Day Luncheon (the PTA’s Birthday Party), the PTA recognizes deserving PTA, GESF, school and community volunteers. Make a volunteer feel appreciated for the hours they give by nominating them for an Honorary Service award.

 

This year there are two ways to make your nominations.  (1)  You may fill out the form on the other side of this sheet and turn it in to the school office in an envelope addressed to “Ani Adjemian”; or (2) You may email your nominations(s) to Ani Adjemian at aniadjemian@gmail.com.  If nominating via email, please type “Glenoaks HSA Nominations” in the subject line.   Deadline is December 13th.

 

PTA MEMBERSHIP CONTESTWin an ice cream party for your student’s classroom. The classroom with the highest % of memberships will be the winner.

Return your membership envelopes back to your child’s classroom or you can join the PTA through Konstella (School -> more menu -> sales). We now accept credit cards!

MOVIE NIGHT:  The 6th Grade will host Glenoaks movie night on Friday,  December 8th.  Join us for a viewing of “Holiday Collection.”  Doors open at 6:30pm, movie to start around 7pm.  Admission is $1.00.  Food and snacks will be available as well.  Bring a blanket to sit on and come dressed in your pj’s for a fun night with your friends!  Parents, please remember that children MUST be accompanied by an adult.  This is not a drop-off event.

 

GUSD TRUANCY/TARDY POLICY:    Please remember all absences must be cleared within 3 days of returning to school.  Absences not verified within 3 days of the student’s return to school will automatically  be recorded as a truant absence and can no  longer be verified.

1ST GRADE PARENTS If you have not turned in your child’s Report of Health Examination for School Entry, IT IS NOW DUE.  PLEASE TURN IT IN TO THE OFFICE.  

 

6TH GRADERS:  YOUR TDAP IS DUE IN 6TH GRADE.  You may have already had the vaccination so please check your immunization record.  If you have had the Tdap, please turn in a copy of your immunization record to the front office. 

 

PARENT CONNECT ACCESS- IMPORTANT!!:  If you do not have a PIN for paent connect, please come to the school office and one will be provided

 

CLASSROOM SUPPLIES AND DONATIONS:  Please contact your child’s teacher to see what is on his/her wish list for any classroom supplies.  All donations are greatly appreciated.  Pencils, pencil sharpeners, hand sanitizer, wipes, Kleenex, glue sticks, scissors are some of the items always needed and welcome.  Teacher emails can be found on the Glenoakselementary.org.
