Instrumental Music - Students must be responsible for bringing their own instrument to school. All string orchestra instruments must be dropped off for tuning before 8:00 a.m. every Monday

1ST GRADE PARENTS:  If you have not turned in your child’s Report of Health Examination for School Entry, IT IS NOW DUE.  PLEASE TURN IT IN TO THE OFFICE.  


6TH GRADERS:  YOUR TDAP IS DUE IN 6TH GRADE.  You may have already had the vaccination so please check your immunization record.  If you have had the Tdap, please turn in a copy of your immunization record to the front office. 


PTA Fall Fundraiser:  This week you will see catalogs from Square 1 Art coming home. Your talented child has been creating artwork for you that you will see featured in their personalized catalog. You'll be able to order timeless keepsakes and help raise funds for the Glenoaks PTA, benefiting all students at Glenoaks Elementary school.

Some items that the PTA Fall Fundraiser helps pay for are assemblies, science fair, class libraries, school safety, and so much more. So please share your child's access code with friends and family to order online. 


There are three ways to order:

Order deadline is November 6th. Please turn in to your classroom teacher or the front office. Orders will arrive the first week of December.

KIWANIS INCREDIBLE DUCK SPLASH 2017 – October 28th; 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Verdugo Park, Glendale, CA; featuring the Kid’s Fitness Challenge, Adopt your duck today - $5 a duck, you can win $10,000


BANDIT RUN: November 16th - Help the Glenoaks Elementary School Foundation raise $20,000 for our school!  The 27th Annual Glenoaks Bandit Run is one of our largest fundraisers of the year! Participants earn money by running laps, and getting pledges from family, friends, or neighbors to support their efforts. Donors can make a flat donation in support of our school. All participants will receive a FREE Bandit Run T-shirt. (Please enter your student(s) shirt size when you register so we can ensure they get one that fits great!) 


Money raised at the Bandit Run will help fund the following:

  • School library: new book additions
  • Computer lab: costs and maintenance
  • Physical education program
  • Art & Music programs
  • Supplemental: instructional funds used by staff for their classroom needs.

GUSD TRUANCY/TARDY POLICY:  Parent/guardian MUST verify any absence within THREE (3) days of student’s return to school.  You can verify an absence on or call the office. ABSENCES NOT VERIFIED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF STUDENT’S RETURN TO SCHOOL WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE RECORDED AS A TRUANT ABSENCE AND CAN NO LONGER BE VERIFIED/CLEARED. Also, there are far too many tardies.  Please try to be at school on time. 


PARENT CONNECT ACCESS- IMPORTANT!!:  If you do not have a PIN for paent connect, please come to the school office and one will be provided


DROP-OFF VALET SERVICE:  This week’s drop off valet service is being manned by Mrs. Soghomonian’s 2nd grade class.  Sign-up information can be found on in your class on Konstella. All you need to do is show up at 7:50, put on your stylish orange safety vest from the office, and stand at one of our drop-off locations. As cars pull up, you wave them forward and help students out of their cars. That's it!


CLASSROOM SUPPLIES AND DONATIONS:  Please contact your child’s teacher to see what is on his/her wish list for any classroom supplies.  All donations are greatly appreciated.  Pencils, pencil sharpeners, hand sanitizer, wipes, Kleenex, glue sticks, scissors are some of the items always needed and welcome.  Teacher emails can be found on the
