T/K and K: 8:10 - 12:45
1st - 3rd: 8:10 AM - 2:15 PM
4th - 6th: 8:10 AM - 2:35 PM
*All children line up at 8:05 on playground: School begins promptly at 8:10 a.m.;
(9:10 banking), which means students should be in their seats or they are late.
*The kinder gate will open at 7:55 a.m. and will close promptly at 8:05 a.m.
*Banking Day (Wednesday) - All Grades Begin at 9:10 AM.
Parent’s Night (PBIS & Math: 10/16/17 - Kelly Stubbs and Molly Skywalker will discuss our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and how you can incorporate PBIS expectations at home. District Math Coaches will be here to talk about our new EnVision Math program for K-5th grade. They will also talk about math in 6th grade and beyond. Questions? MOVIE NIGHT: The 6th Grade will host the first 2017-18 Glenoaks movie night on Friday, October 20th. Join us for a viewing of “Hotel Transylvania II.” Doors open at 6:30pm, movie to start around 7pm. Admission is $1.00. Food and snacks will be available as well. Bring a blanket to sit on and come dressed in your pj’s for a fun night with your friends! Parents, please remember that children MUST be accompanied by an adult. This is not a drop-off event.
17th Annual COATS FOR KIDS DRIVE: Donate gently used coats to keep kids warm this winter October 5-19, 2017.
Collection boxes located at your school office. Coats will be cleaned and distributed on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

1ST GRADE PARENTS: If you have not turned in your child’s Report of Health Examination for School Entry, which you received when you enrolled your child, IT IS NOW DUE. PLEASE TURN IT IN TO THE OFFICE.
6TH GRADE PARENTS: THIS IS NOW DUE- Please provide a copy of your child’s updated immunization record to your child’s teacher or to the front office by September 15, 2017. If your child has not received his/her Tdap vaccination, please schedule them to have the vaccination as soon as possible. Please check your child’s immunization record to see if he/she has already received the vaccination.

Please take the time to carefully read and understand what benefits supplemental accident insurance has to offer and understand the exclusions and other limitations explained in the brochure. Please note that the Glendale Unified School District has no financial ties with Myers-Stevens Company and receives no financial benefit from them.
To obtain coverage, you can request the brochure from your school office or download the form from the website link provided above. Complete the enrollment form, enclose payment and send the form and payment directly to Myers-Stevens. For any questions, please call Myers-Stevens at 800-827-4695 or 949-348-0656.

GUSD TRUANCY/TARDY POLICY: Parent/guardian MUST verify any absence within THREE (3) days of student’s return to school. You can verify an absence on Glenoakselementary.org or call the office. ABSENCES NOT VERIFIED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF STUDENT’S RETURN TO SCHOOL WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE RECORDED AS A TRUANT ABSENCE AND CAN NO LONGER BE VERIFIED/CLEARED. Also, there are far too many tardies. Please try to be at school on time.

DROP-OFF VALET SERVICE: This week’s drop off valet service is being manned by Ms. Maynes’ 3rd grade class. Sign-up information can be found in your classroom on Konstella. All you need to do is show up at 7:50, put on your stylish orange safety vest from the office, and stand at one of our drop-off locations. As cars pull up, you wave them forward and help students out of their cars. That's it! We need two people at the kindergarten gate, one at our main gate, and two people in the back of the school at the lunch bench drop-off. At 8:10 - You're done! We would appreciate any support you can give - just one morning during your class's week would be great!
CLASSROOM SUPPLIES AND DONATIONS: Please contact your child’s teacher to see what is on his/her wish list for any classroom supplies. All donations are greatly appreciated. Pencils, pencil sharpeners, hand sanitizer, wipes, Kleenex, glue sticks, scissors are some of the items always needed and welcome. Teacher emails can be found on the Glenoakselementary.org website.
