Additional Clarification from Ms. Walter
Fri, Apr 10 7:05pm

Dear Families,

I’m sorry to send an additional communication but felt it was warranted.  I received some feedback and concern around the idea the school is “mandatory” starting Monday, April 13th.  Please know, teachers will be spending a significant amount of their synchronous learning time focusing on students' social and emotional well being.  Although academics is of course a priority what is most important now is that students feel safe and supported and that academic expectations are realistic for each family.

We know that families are all experiencing this crisis in different ways.  We are here to work with you and personalize plans that work for your family right now.  We also realize families' circumstances are constantly evolving. Please reach out to your teacher or me to determine how we can support your child best.  “School” is not intended to be one more thing to add to families' stress.

Lastly, K-2 families, please DO NOT start working through your packets!  Teachers will be assigning things each week. It is not intended to be a document that kids work through without additional instruction.

Let’s keep the lines of communication open.  We are here to support one another. It is times like this that we need our communities more than ever.

Have a wonderful weekend.

With Love,

Ms. Walter
