Letter From Ms. Walter

Dear Grattan Families,

I honestly can’t process that this year is coming to an end! And, what a bizarre year it’s been!  I can’t say I’m ready to leap into on-line school from here on out, but I am pretty darn impressed with how hard everyone: staff, students, and families have stepped up and risen to the challenge.  These are unprecedented times with so much uncertainty and I’m deeply thankful for the patience and compassion we have all shown one another.

As the year winds down teachers may be reaching out to schedule conferences with some families.  Final report cards, with comments only for T3, will be available via ParentVue on or after June 2nd.  If you have not yet logged into ParentVue please make sure you are able.  If you need log-in credentials please reach out to Ms. Karen: calbertK@sfusd.edu.  If you checked out district or site computers and are returning to SFUSD in the Fall the directive is to keep those in your possession and return once school reopens.  If you are leaving SFUSD please reach out to me: walterc@sfusd.edu to arrange for their return.

If you have not filled out the Family Check-In Survey someone on staff may be reaching out to conduct a wellness check and make sure you and your family are doing well.  For our PreK families with a year-round contract, please note summer school will be in session.  We still do not know exactly what format that will be in but will contact you as soon as we know.

Given that we’d like to provide some closure for our final day of school, we are going to have a Last Day of School Live Clap-In at 9AM.  Please join us on Zoom:

Fifth Grade families, the ⅘ Team is working hard to put together a “Graduation Program” that we will kick off at 10AM on June 2nd.  Although it’s far less than ideal, I am very excited about what we have in store!  Look for information in the next few days about that.

Many families are understandably asking about the Fall.  Honestly, at this point it’s been one foot in front of the other.  No decisions about what school will look like in the Fall have been made yet.  Once those decisions are made, both SFUSD’s central office and school sites will be communicating with families.

Let’s keep the pace for the final stretch!  Two more weeks to go!

In Community,

Ms. Walter
