Reminder: No School on Monday 10/13 and Halloween Costume Closet Playdate on Saturday 10/18
Sat, Oct 11 5:39pm

Dear Grattan Families,

Happy weekend! Please see below for two quick reminders:

1) There is no school on Monday, October 13th in observance of Indigenous People's Day.

2) Our first Halloween Costume Closet Playdate is on Saturday, October 18th at 3:00 pm. Event details below:

Get ready for some spooky fun! Join us for Grattan’s first Halloween Costume Closet, on Saturday, October 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Grattan Playground (1180 Stanyan Street), where families can come together, share costumes, and celebrate community.

👻 How it works: Bring along any gently used costumes or accessories you’re ready to pass on (no weapon props, please). Costumes will be displayed as a “closet” so every child can pick out something magical—whether or not they bring an item to donate. Halloween-themed tattoos and playground fun will make the afternoon festive for all.

💜 Why join? A playful way to reduce waste and save money. Helps all kids feel included and excited for Halloween. A chance for families to connect in an intentional and joyful way.

🍬 Optional Giving: This is a free community event. If you’d like, you can support Grattan’s Annual Campaign by making a donation. Every contribution of time, energy, or funds makes a difference.

✨ After the Event: Any leftover costumes will be donated to values-aligned organizations such as Chloe’s Closet or Goodwill, so every costume continues its journey.
