SFUSD Budget / Staffing / School Board Meeting Update
There is a school board meeting tonight, Tuesday, 12/16, at 6:30 pm at 555 Franklin Street. If you want to make a public comment, go at 6 pm to submit your name. Students get to speak first, and you have 1 minute to comment.
Strike Vote
As you may have heard, over 99% SFUSD educators approved going on strike as a last resort if they cannot reach a contract with SFUSD. This would not occur before late January 2026. Families may want to consider encouraging the district to get to a fair contract now to avoid a strike.
Cutting social workers from schools
Among other budget proposals, the district is also currently proposing cutting all social workers, including Grattan’s own Ms. Melissa, from all non-Title 1 schools. This will be addressed at tonight’s school board meeting.
