Hello, Grattan Families!
It's that time of year, and we are getting ready for our annual FIELD DAY on May 31st! This is a super fun event, hosted by Ms. Brown, our amazing Physical Education teacher at Grattan Elementary. Lucky for us, she needs a bunch of health-minded adults to help her set up and monitor the 4/5th grade students who will be participating.
Field Day consists of age and grade appropriate exercises and games, all of which have been used throughout the year by Ms. Brown while administering her P.E. curriculum to the various grade levels. The students meet on the field at Grattan Playground and are split into smaller, more manageable groups. Then, they are rotated through the activities and challenges. It is a very popular day for all!
You will be connecting with Ms. Brown for this event, as she will be the one to decide where help is needed most. She has the following volunteer opportunities available!
- Set-up: 8:10-9:10 (5-8 volunteers would be amazing)
- Stations: 9:30-10:40 (10 volunteers needed, but the more the merrier)
- Tug-of-war: 10:45-11:10 (all volunteers needed)
- Clean-up: 11:20-11:50 (5-8 volunteers)
This is the best opportunity families have to see exactly what the Physical Education curriculum looks like at your child's school! It clearly shows how P.E. and Ms. Brown benefit the students and give them ample opportunity to build a solid community within their grade levels. Please consider volunteering for this terrific end-of-the-year event and watch the Grattan 4th and 5th graders in action!
