Spring Fling 2024

How to have a great time at Spring Fling:
Come ready to walk. For each lap you walk or jog, you will receive a check mark on your shirt or lap card:
- Arrive at 9:00 to pick up your pledge rewards, including your Spring Fling t-shirt for keeping track of your laps. All Hawks welcome, paper lap cards will be available at the check-in table. At least $5 in pledges is required to collect walk-a-thon prizes. Parents, siblings, and guests can purchase lap cards the day of at the sales booth.
- Weber will start the walk-a-thon at 9:30. Join us at the start of the track under the rainbow and be prepared to “Follow Your Own Yellow Brick Road”. You are welcome to stop and start the walk-a-thon at any time. Track will close at 2:00.
- Put those walking shoes on and walk, walk, walk…..
- Walk 4 laps and receive a Smarties Candy. Walk 6 laps and receive a heart patch. Walk 8 laps and receive a courage badge. Walk 10 laps and receive an official Spring Fling Gold Medal!
- Enjoy the walk. Don’t forget to stop at the water refill station and stay hydrated. Please bring your own water bottle.
- Keep walking to fill up your shirt or lap card. The class with the most overall laps will win a special prize.
- Lap rewards to be picked up at the medal booth once the student has completed their walk-a-thon for the day.
- Bring hats, sunscreen, extra water bottles, pop-up tents for shade, chairs, blankets, find the Spectators entrance and make a day of it!
- Check out the Teacher Time Raffle. Purchase tickets Friday after school or the of, to win time with your favorite teacher. Raffle Closes at 2:00
- Day of sales will be available. Each station requires a pre-paid ticket.
- No purchase needed for temporary tattoos.
- Pick up your pre-purchase envelope after school or the morning of.
Event Timeline
9:00-1:30 Check in-
Pick up pledge rewards in front of the library along with Spring Fling T-shirt to track your laps. Paper lap cards also available.
9:30 Walk-a-thon begins.
Find the rainbow and join us at the starting area.
9:30-2:00 Walk, enjoy activities, giant slide, obstacle course and so
much more.
10:30 Splash Down opens.
10:30 BBQ available -pick up at concessions.
2:00 Teacher Time Raffle Ends/winners will be chosen.
2:00 Track Closes
2:30 Spring Fling ENDS
To earn rewards pledges must be in by Friday April 19th, 9:00PM. Pledges will be excepted day of for lap cards($5).

Hacienda Teachers & Staff generously donate their time to sponsor an activity for our community. The Teacher & Staff raffle will take place at Spring Fling and the events will occur in May. We will be here after school on Friday selling Techer Time Raffle Tickets. Purchase raffle tickets after school on Friday or at Spring Fling.

Hawks YOU have raised over $25,000 to help fund all our awesome school programs and activities. There is less than one week to gather those pledge donations. Here's what to do:
1. Register your student as a walker on PledgeStar at http://pledgestar.com/
2. Get at least ONE donation of ANY amount to qualify as a participant and help your class earn a popsicle party.
3. Receive donations totaling $35 to earn this year's Spring Fling shirt. The more donations you collect the more prizes you earn... and the more you support HIPS!

Spring Fling is a full-day walk-a-thon event meant to bring our community together for a fun, active, family-centered fundraiser. This is our annual fundraising, FUN day. The entire school and community is invited to participate in the Walk-a-Thon, Themed Activities, Giant Slide, Obstacle Course, Free Temp Tattoos, and much more. HIPS yearly budget is over $300,000. Spring Fling aims to raise at least 10% of those vital funds. HIPS funds 100% of our music program including staff & supplies, supplemental Science and needs of our 1-acre Outdoor Classroom, hands on art and gardening programs, teacher classroom supplies, assemblies, and community events.
