Highlights from Our HIPS Meeting

Here’s a quick recap of what we covered during yesterday's HIPS meeting:

• Traffic Circle Etiquette: Drop off only, parents need to stay in their vehicles, and students should only exit from the right-hand side of the car. 
• Mr. Weber's Report: Great start to the school year! K-2 have all received their new smart TVs and teachers will have training on how to use them next week. First Wednesdays of the month are Principal's Coffee and meeting topic focus will be sent out in prior Sunday message. Student testing came back great and all target points improved significantly. A big effort this year to work on chronic absenteeism. 
• Programs are off to a wonderful start! We still have some classes that need docents or helpers. Check the Konstella committee pages to see if your class needs a helping hand. 
• Annual Giving Drive kicked off at BTSN! As of this morning we have raised $27,650 (17% of our monetary goal) and classes are on their way to earning popsicle parties for their classes. Join us on Friday, Aug 29th by the lower grade playground for Lemonade with the AGD Team. We'll have the tier rewards on display if you'd like to see them. 
• Book Fair is looking for a lead. This is one of our students' favorite events. Reach out to events@hips.rocks or community@hips.rocks if interested.
