Dear Hoover Families,

Happy New Year! Welcome back to school and I hope you all had a wonderful winter break. 

The PTA team is already back to working hard behind the scenes to plan and organize more events and programs to bring to our Hoover community.

I want to express my gratitude for each and every one of you. Whether it's through direct donation or volunteering your time, your generosity has already made a huge impact on supporting our teachers and students.

We have a lot of exciting things coming up! Apologize in advance for the long message.

1. Hoover Merch

We are excited to bring back the Hoover Merch store! Are you a new family to Hoover? Have your children outgrown their Hoover spiritwear? Want to show your Hoover spirit on Fridays? 

Please visit our Hoover Merch store HERE and place your order before Friday January 10th, 2025!

We can't wait to see our students in their Hedgie t-shirts and hoodies!

2. Ice Skating Party Update

The highly anticipated annual Ice Skating Party will be held on Friday January 24th, 5:30-7:30pm!

The events team and leads are getting ready to launch our ticket sale soon!

We will need lots of volunteer help to make it a successful event! Please look out for volunteer sign-up on Konstella coming soon!

3. PTA 2025-2026 Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is a group of volunteer parents whose purpose is to seek out and recruit parents and teachers for PTA Board positions and Key Chair roles for the next school year.

We are looking for parents from every grade level. The deadline to join the Nominating Committee is January 31st.

4. Invention Convention

We are so excited to see over 120 students signed up to participate in the Invention Convention this year!

Please save the date! The Invention Convention will be held on the evening of Monday February 24th. 

Hope the kids are having fun brainstorming ideas and putting together their poster boards!

Our parent leads Brigit Riley and Derek Smith will be sending out more information.

5. Next PTA General Association Meeting (GAM) on Tuesday February 4th 8AM in MP room

Please join us at the next PTA GAM meeting! We need 14 members to meet quorum!

If we don't meet quorum (meaning not enough members attend the meeting), then we can't approve any upcoming budgets or events.

It means we might not be able to have International Festival or Family Social or other activities planned for the rest of the school year!

This is your best opportunity to learn more about what's happening, be able to voice your opinions plus provide ideas and solutions to better support our teachers, students, and the community.

Plus, your attendance at GAM meetings will enter you into a raffle to win some Hoover Hedgie goodies!

6. Reflections Arts Program Artwork

Congrats to all our talented Hedgies whose artworks were submitted to the district level judging and thank you to all Hedgies who participated! 

The artworks have been posted in the library for the students to enjoy.

7. ABC Programs/ Jr Museum visits/ Gardening Club

Our dedicated ABC program leads Himani Manglani and Phoebe Chang and ABC readers, and Gardening Club lead Anastasia Sivura are continuously volunteering throughout the school year to enrich our Hedgies' school life.

The students also enjoy their Jr Museum visits throughout the school year!

8. Yearbooks

Many of you have already purchased a yearbook. If you want to purchase a yearbook, please place your order HERE before April 18th, 2025!!

9. PTA Calendar

Please find the PTA calendar HERE. The PTA calendar gets updated periodically as we approve more events throughout the school year so check back often and mark your calendars!!
