Bike and Pedestrian Safety Survey
Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan (website) is a project with a budget of $200,000 that aims to eliminate traffic deaths and life-changing injuries on local streets.

If you have inputs on road safety, here are a few ways you can help:

  1. Fill out the Transportation Priorities Survey: https://www.cityofpaloalto.org/Departments/Transportation/Transportation-Projects/Safety-Action-Plan -> scroll to “Online Survey”

  2. Annotate the map to show areas you have witnessed or experienced collisions. Map for the Community to Annotate: https://maps.kittelson.com/ActivePaloAlto

  3. Share this map link with your kids and their friends to ensure we have as much input as possible. You are welcome to forward this to your friends and parent groups.

NOTE: Comments on your annotations will be publicly viewable, so be mindful to protect the anonymity of involved parties.

Walk & Roll Safety Tip: Check your bike ABCs
If it has been a while since you’ve been on your bike, check your bike ABCs before your ride to make sure it is in shape to ride.  Keeping your bike in good order makes it easier to ride.  This video describes how to perform your ABC Quick Chieck.
  • Air- inflate tires to the recommended PSI stamped on the edge of your bicycle tire.

  • Brakes- roll the bicycle and then squeeze the brakes to ensure they stop the tires.

Chain- spin the crank and oil the chain with chain lubricant.

Go Hedgies!!!!!

Two outcasts leave humanity for the kingdom of the birds seeking happiness. Instead, they hatch a scheme to turn the skies into a powerful utopia – if they can overcome the wrath of the Greek gods. Don Zolidis updates Aristophanes’s ancient comedy, showing that its satirical take on society, politics and religion is just as relevant today. Tickets ($15 adults, $10 students/seniors) at palytheatre.com/tickets or the box office. Recommended for ages 6+ for some crude humor and mild innuendo.
