Volunteering Opportunities Nothing is more valuable than the gift of your time. Please checkout these volunteering opportunities still available:
Traffic Alert Between September 5 and September 8, Caltrain will be performing potholing work in Palo Alto that will require a partial closure of Alma Street at East Meadow Drive and Alma Street at Charleston Road railroad crossings to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The temporary closures are required due to construction equipment and crews entering and exiting the Caltrain right-of-way. Work will take place between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. Staff is coordinating with Caltrain, including approving permits for the work to be performed. Public information to raise awareness of the construction impacts will begin later this week.
Double Your PiE Donation - Now through September 5! Double your impact: Between now and Sept 5th, gifts and pledges will be matched by a $500,000 Double Donation Challenge Grant. Donate today! Parties and Playdates Go Green Hosting a class playdate or party? Go green - you'll save money, too. Start by reserving a Party Pack from your school or the city to cover the dishware and utensils and encourage people to bring their own dishes. Reuse last year's decorations, or use reusable banners. Order food from local businesses, organic where possible, and with less packaging and finger foods. Your games can use repurposed materials, and you can ask for non-material or gently-used gifts. After the event, save leftover items in good condition for reuse. Here are guidelines for a sustainable school event: https://ptac.paloaltopta.org/wp-content/uploads/Guidlines-for-Sustainable-School-Events.pdf
Do You Love Art and Sharing that Love with Others? The Project Look field trip program engages K-5th grade students from local schools.
