We are excited to announce that our Hoover Free Book Exchange is back again! We encourage every student to participate, but it is entirely voluntary. For those who want to participate, please help your child gather books that have outgrown them and have your child bring them to class on 1/24 (Mon),1/25 (Tue), and 1/26 (Wed). Your child may bring in as many books as they wish. Then, on 1/26 (Wed), all the donated books will be sorted and distributed to classroom teachers. The classroom teachers will then distribute the books to students to take home to read.
What books NOT to bring: In keeping with Hoover's goal of providing top-quality reading material for our kids, we would prefer that you do not donate coloring books, preschool-level books, magazines, comic books, severely damaged books, books in other languages, or books about the following topics: religion, religious holidays, teen/adult books, or books featuring commercial (for-profit) television or movie characters. Books featuring public educational TV characters like Arthur and Curious George are OK if they are not preschool level.
Volunteers: Do you love reading? We receive thousands of books in the past book exchange events. It is a considerable effort to sort the books into different grade-level. Your help is a great way to support Hoover and encourage our kids to read more. If you are interested in helping out, please come to the MP Room at 8:15 am on 1/24 (Mon), 1/25 (Tue), or 1/26 (Wed). We will send out volunteer signups separately through Konstella.
Thank you for your support.
