With a new administration safely in place and a promise of better days---the words of Amanda Gorman underscore and amplify the importance of our journey together and our commitment to provide our students with a welcoming, inclusive and supportive learning environment rooted in equity.
During this time of COVID, our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work continues, and it could not be a more important time to dive deep into our work--diversity is our strength and we recognize the adverse impacts of racism and the need to move from the status quo towards equity. Since our last parent meeting, we have established a process that supports this work. Please join us on February 4th from 6:30-8pm for an update and an opportunity to join our efforts (Zoom link below). We will build on previous meetings such as our October 29th parent forum, provide updates on our DEI consultant process, and have opportunities for all stakeholders to participate in this very important work from a steering committee to provide guidance and working groups to dive deeper into specific areas of focus.
Hope to see you there.
Warmly,
Maria McCormick--Principal
Alia Dolan--Mental Health Consultant
Gloria Bruce--DEI PTA
Rebecca Gitenstein--DEI PTA
