Community Meeting: Facilities Master Plan
Thu, Jan 23 6:30pm-8:30pm
Hillcrest Multi-Purpose Room
1 day before

Please participate in this important community meeting.  Jody London, School Board President and District 1 School Board Director, will be taking input on the draft Facilities Master Plan.  This meeting is your chance to provide input on how OUSD’s Facilities projects should be prioritized.  This discussion will consider project types, not a specific project list.  The draft prioritization plan includes deferred Measure J projects, including Hillcrest’s new cafeteria, as the top priority; however, it is not guaranteed that these priorities will hold.  The school board will be discussing it, and community input will be considered.

Here is some additional information from Jody:

OUSD is in the process of updating our Facilities Master Plan, which guides our capital program. The Facilities Master Plan was last updated in 2012. We must have a current Facilities Master Plan to be eligible for State bond funds that will become available if measure on March ballot is approved, and to put a local bond measure on the ballot in November.

The School Board received a presentation on the draft Facilities Master Plan at our December meeting; our anticipated need is over $3 billion. Historically we have been able under State law to ask the voters to authorize just under $500 million. You can see the staff presentation at this link.
