7th Grade Holiday Food Drive kicks off today!
Students are working with the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) for a food donation drive now underway. It runs through Thursday, Dec. 16.
Collection barrels are placed at the front entrance of the school waiting to be filled!
The ACCFB is asking for healthy, non-perishable foods. Examples include:
•Canned entrees (chili, ravioli, etc.)
•Boxed mac and cheese
•Canned meat and tuna
•Low sodium canned soups
Please NO glass containers
The food bank serves 1 in 4 residents in Alameda County. The pandemic has increased the need among families in this community. An inflation driven surge in food prices and ongoing supply chain issues have also created huge challenges in this organization’s effort to serve its community. They need our help!
You can also contribute virtually to provide perishable foods that can’t go in the barrels, such as milk, meat, eggs and fresh produce. To donate those items, go to ACCFB.org. Our virtual food drive name is “Hillcrest Helps.”
Hillcrest, let’s do this!
