August 28th- 1st Day of School

August 28th @ 8:30 am- You are invited to join other parents to a Welcome Back Coffee in the auditorium right after drop off. See familiar faces and meet new ones. Sponsored by Holmes PTA.  

September 1st @ 8:30 am- Family Friday's are held the 1st Friday of every month in the auditorium. Come hear Principal Saipe give updates on the latest school news. Coffee and light refreshments will be available.



September 5th-7th-  Come bring your kids in to get them new reading material for the school year! Volunteers are needed to help run the Book Fair. Without volunteer support, our children will not be able to purchase books. Please take a look at the Sign-Ups sheets to see where you can help.

September 6th 1-8pm- Fun For Dollars! @ Boomers

September 7th @5 pm- Come meet your new 2016/2017 PTA Board Members. PTA Association Meeting will be from 5:30-6pm and held in the Cafeteria.

September 7th @ 5:30 pm- Please join us for Back To School Night! The staff is very excited to meet all the new parents of their incoming students. Please take a look at the two different times you can come to your child's class.

  1. Fill out the attached envelope and return with your 2017-2018 membership dues: $11.00 per member; cash or checks are acceptable; please make checks payable to Holmes PTA.

  2. Classroom Contest—the 4 classes with the highest participation percentage of joining the PTA will:

    1. Receive a $50 classroom reward for teachers to spend on their class AND

    2. Each student will receive 5 FREE tickets to the Holmes Halloween Carnival!

      * Note: participation is considered membership dues from at least one parent per student in each class

Holmes Elementary After School Programs:  Fall 2017

There are several exciting after school programs provided throughout the week for Holmes students to participate in.  Please refer to the attached flyer or the program provider’s website for further details and registration instructions.  


Please note:  After school programs are provided by independent program providers, approved through the San Diego Unified School District and are not supervised or operated by Holmes Elementary or the Holmes Elementary PTA.  All registration activities and specific program questions should be directed to the program provider.
