Become a proud parent member of Hoover Site Council!
Dear Hoover Parents,
Have you wondered about Hoover School Site Council (SSC)? Did you know Hoover Site Council gets a behind-the-scenes view of Hoover and the district? Are you interested in hearing from guest speakers on topics like: new reading comprehension programs, academic data, district policies, renovation details and more? Are you interested in round-table discussions with Ms. Bimpson and engaged teachers about academic and social issues at Hoover?
Hoover Site Council is a great way for parents to contribute to Hoover’s continuous academic and social improvements.
We are looking to elect three parent members for the next two academic years. If you are interested, please write a few sentences about yourself and why you are excited to be part of SSC. Please send your write-up to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Katy Bimpson (email@example.com). The due date for your nomination is May 1st, 2018.
The nominated parents are selected through a voting process by school parents and the selected parent SSC members will be announced during the week of May 7th.
More about Hoover Site Council:
The Hoover Site Council is responsible for reviewing and approving the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), a state program whereby schools are given funds to be used as determined on-site. It is also responsible for establishing school goals and approving the annual SSC budget and other school wide and policy issues. The Site Council is composed of parents and staff members (including the Principal) each serving two year terms.
Site Council members meet once a month on a Tuesday, from 2:55 PM until 4:25 PM at Hoover. These meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to join. These meetings are a great platform for extending communication and for providing feedback by sharing and discussion during ‘Open Forum’.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and as always to Ms. Katy Bimpson (email@example.com)
