Important information and changes to the auction

Good morning Hoover Community,

 

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for the support you have demonstrated to Hoover's Summer of Love Dinner and Auction. Your generosity means a lot to our children and the auction committee could not have been able to chair this event without your support.

 

Thanks to our very generous teachers and staff who have donated their time to host activities with your children, thanks to the room parents for soliciting donations; thanks to the those who have signed up and have volunteered their time to help; those who have purchased tickets for themselves and staff; donated items and cash, sponsorships and all others who assisted in one way or the other.

 

We have a fantastic event planned for November 4th, and have been very lucky to be able to source a great chef at a reasonable cost, through our secretary, Rachelle, the Grocery Outlet has donated all the wine for our cocktail hour as well as dinner, our amazing event designer and a Hoover parent, Kyle Edwards, for donating his time, staff and resources, Hoover parents, Dr. and Mrs. Eric Wu for donating a photobooth and so many more. It takes a village. We looking forward to a wonderful event.

 

A few days before the event, we will start the online auction, which will go live on Monday, October 23, at 10:00 am until the eve of the auction. Anyone can participate so make sure to share our link with your friends and family and mark your calendars! More information with the link will follow.

 

We have made a few changes to the auction this year:

 

  • Our live auction items will only include Hoover centric items, including a parking spot, principal for a day, Hoover children's art project under the direction of Mrs. Colvert, etc.
  • Sign up for all teacher and staff activities and experiences will be done at the auction on November 4th and will be on a first come first serve basis.
  • We will be offering tickets instead of keys for the Disney vacation package, which includes 4 Disneyland hopper passes, a suite for one night at the Anaheim Marriott, next to Disney with free overnight parking and free WiFi.
  • Childcare will be free and onsite at Mitchell Park in a separate room.

We are excited about the Summer of Love Dinner and Auction and can't wait to see you. We understand that there may be a few scheduling conflicts and that families may be a bit stretched, however, we are pleased that you have supported the auction in whatever way you have done already.

 

As we all play our part to help make our school a wonderful community, we are very grateful to the PTA for their sponsored programs, projects and events. The auction will help fund projects like the library refreshing project, Science visits, STEAM programs, ukeleles for lower grades and so much more. Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do for our school. Without all of your support, our school would be a very different place.

 

If you would like to be part of the auction event, we still have a few tickets left, and you are welcome to come and mingle. The cost is $50. You can drop a check in the office or purchase your tickets at Hooverauction.com
