Parent Volunteers Needed for Hoover Site Council

Dear Hoover Parents:

 

I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping positive in these unusual times.

 

We have two openings on the Hoover Site Council and would like you to consider joining this wonderful committee.

 

The Hoover Site Council is responsible for reviewing and approving the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), a state program whereby schools are given funds to be used as determined on-site. It is also responsible for establishing school goals and approving the annual SSC budget and other school wide and policy issues. The Site Council is composed of parents and staff members (including the Principal) each serving two-year terms. 

 

Please consider joining us.  Some of the perks include behind the scenes view of Hoover and the district, as well round table discussions with Mr. Sherman and teachers about academic and social issues at Hoover.

 

As a member of the Site Council, you will attend a meeting once a month and serve a two year term. Site Council members meet once a month on a Tuesday, from 2:55 PM until 4:25 PM at Hoover in the Library (typically on the second Tuesday of every month - TBC). These meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to join. These meetings are a great platform for extending communication and for providing feedback by sharing and discussion during ‘Open Forum’.
