Dear Hugo Reid Families,

As many of you may have noticed, Mr. Santos, our crossing guard at HRP, has been absent since last week.  He underwent unexpected emergency surgery and is currently recovering at a rehab facility in El Monte.  I spoke with his family yesterday and this morning Mr. Santos was able to call me back.  He is doing well, considering the circumstances, but his release date is unforeseen as it will depend on when his infections clear.

In the meantime, his family would appreciate any handmade cards from students to uplift Mr. Santos' spirits.  If your student would like to make a card for Mr. Santos, please submit it to the school offices no later than November 10th.  I will be picking them up and delivering to Mr. Santos.
