The Gardening Committee was officially formed in 2025 after a growing interest from Hyde-Addison families who began volunteering around the school grounds the previous year.  This committee is focused on maintaining and enhancing the outdoor appearance of our school, including the garden beds, playground areas and street entrance.

Responsibilities include regular weeding, planting and seasonal clean-up, as well as organizing occasional weekend community gardening days.  The committee also helps care for the Kindness Rock Garden and may coordinate summer garden watering schedules or special projects like installing a rain barrel or applying for gardening-related grants.

We strive to collaborate with teachers, school administration and the ActivePlay afterschool enrichment program to support ongoing efforts and identify new opportunities to green our campus.
