Community Reminder: COVID testing for return-to-school
Sun, Jan 2 9:39am

Imai friends, Happy New Year! Today we're sharing and reminding you of information previously sent by the School District, Superintendent and other sources about keeping our schools safe as our kids return this week:

Get tested!

COVID testing after travel and gatherings is highly recommended and is a very effective way of preventing COVID transmission in our schools. We strongly recommend that you COVID test your students before school resumes Jan. 4th, regardless of vaccination status or symptoms. Here are the ways you can test your children.

  • TODAY, Jan. 2 at the Rengstorff Park BBQ Area. The Community Action Team (CAT) in collaboration with the Santa Clara County Health Dept. is providing home test kits, available (first come, first served) from 3-5 p.m. at the barbecue area at Rengstorff Park. (Park address is 201 S. Rengstorff Ave. Best access to the barbecue area is from Crisanto Ave. )
  • TOMORROW, Jan. 3 at Gabriela Mistral and District Office: A limited supply of free home testing kits will be available (first come, first served) for pick-up on Monday, Jan. 3 from 8-11 a.m. at 1400 Montecito Ave and Gabriela Mistral Elementary (500 Escuela Ave).
  • There may be some availability at the Mountain View High School COVID testing program tomorrow (Jan. 3) from 7:30 am - 4 p.m. Click here to learn more and for the link for community members to register for testing.

Testing will prevent community spread next week. If you have the ability and resources, please TEST your student(s) before school resumes January 4th.  Let's continue to fight this pandemic together. STAY WELL!
