WALKATHON REMINDERS
from
IMAI ELEMENTARY PTA

February 17, 2023

Imai Parents, we've got some important and time-sensitive walkathon updates to share before we depart for winter break! Read below for more details about:

  • Walkathon T-Shirt Design Contest winners
  • Pre-register before Monday 2/27 to get t-shirts
  • Start thinking about pledges
  • Volunteer Shift sign-up comes out on Monday 2/20

WALKATHON T-SHIRT CONTEST WINNERS:
We received more than 40 AMAZING submissions for our walkathon t-shirt design contest! It wasn't easy choosing our winning design as there were so many great works of art. We want to recognize five "semi-finalist" artists: Scarlett Y (5th grade), Charlotte I (5th grade), Arhan R (2nd grade), Hannah C (3rd grade) and Lucas Y (2nd grade).
Our winning design is by Emily M (5th grade) whose design will be featured on the 2023 t-shirt. Congratulations Emily!

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE COMING SOON: The deadline to pre-register for our Walkathon comes up quickly on the Monday we return from break (Feb. 27).  Only pre-registered students are guaranteed a walkathon t-shirt, so please take a moment NOW to join the 20% of students who have already registered.
Remember that the upper- and lower-grade classrooms with the highest percent registered wins a popsicle party.

START THINKING ABOUT PLEDGES: Consider having your students work with you to create a list of friends and family that might be eager to support Imai PTA thru our walkathon. If each student obtained just $100 in pledges, we'd easily meet our fundraising goal of $30,000. Online pledge info will be sent to you after you register for the event.

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS COMING SOON: Our walkathon is an "all hands on deck" event. We need each family to consider taking just one 60-minute shift to make the walkathon run smoothly. Our volunteer sign-up sheet will go out Monday (2/20), and if we can get our spots filled quickly, we won't have to keep sending weekly pleas for help.

Thanks for your support and involvement!
