Thanks to everyone who attended this week’s 1st PTA Meeting. We value the voices of our parents and teachers and the PTA is a great forum to get informed, ask your questions, and share your ideas. And, thank you to all who have joined the PTA and contributed to our fundraising efforts. As we conclude our annual membership drive, here’s one teacher’s reflection on how your contributions to PTA directly benefit our teachers and students:
“I am so glad to have access to a teacher TSU (additional fund for supplies) that allows me to buy materials to better help my students to understand new skills. I am also grateful to be able to plan field trips to places like Columbia Gold Country because they help students to be fully immersed in a topic that is so important to California state standards. These field trips are always engaging and create memories that students never forget. None of this would be possible without the PTA!” - Ms. Algieri, 4th grade teacher

*NEW* KEYSTONE READERS (previously PROJECT CORNERSTONE)
-
Seeking Readers - We are looking for parent volunteers to read in the classrooms once a month as part of the SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) curriculum. Need 2 parents per room.

This is a great opportunity to interact with children in the classroom. Most of our readers return every year because of how much they enjoy making a difference and helping children with SEL. Sample topics we have covered include: "How to handle bullying", "What does it mean to be a good friend", "Celebrating diversity", etc.
-
Time commitment: 1 hr in-class + 30 min prep each month
