PTA MEMBERSHIP and DONATION DRIVE (+ Popsicle Contest)
-
Have you joined or renewed your membership yet?
-
We encourage all Imai supporters—parents, students, siblings, grandparents, aunts & uncles, staff & teachers—to join PTA. Every membership helps support our students, school programs, events, and the amazing experiences that make Imai Elementary special.
-
-
Why donate to the PTA?
-
Your donations directly benefit your students via essential programs like TK & Kinder PE, supplemental curriculum materials for teachers, campus improvements, SEL initiatives, enrichment software, etc.
-
Each year, the Imai PTA spends ~$300+ per student ($150K annual budget), and our suggested donation is $200 per student, but any amount is appreciated!

-
What is MVEF? The Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation led by parent volunteers to maintain and enhance the quality of academics and enrichment in the Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD).
-
What does MVEF do? MVEF's goal is to bridge the gap between state funding and the actual cost of providing a well-rounded and comprehensive education for our children.
-
The school district provides the core necessities like teacher salaries, textbooks, and basic supplies.
-
MVEF funds vital programs that make a big difference, like art & music (from CSMA), science programs (e.g. Living Classroom), smaller English class sizes, and support for sports and clubs.
-
What impact does your gift make? Donations from the community support a well-rounded education for ALL 4,600+ MVWSD students.
-
Their 2026-2027 fundraising goal is $1.4M and the suggested donation is $1,200 per student (or a recurring gift of $100/month).
FALL BOOK FAIR
|
|
Tue. 9/15 and Wed. 9/16
Thu. 9/17
|
Get ready! Our Book Fair powered by Linden Tree Books is happening next week. HOWEVER…
-
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
-
Right now we are short many volunteers for shopping hours. By lending just one hour of your time, you can help us keep the Book Fair running!
-
We especially need volunteers to fill these slots:
-
Wed. 9/16, 4:30–6:15pm
-
Thu. 9/17, 1:45–3:00pm, 4:00–7:00pm
-
-
Tasks are extremely simple (managing crowd flow, tidying books, working the register) and no prior retail experience needed!
-
-
Special Book Signing—Thursday!: Our very own Imai parent and author Jasmine Fang will hold a special signing of her new book Beneath the Same Round Moon on Thursday 9/17 from 4–5pm in the Imai Library. Stop by to purchase your book and have it signed, and shop the rest of the Book Fair before the Back to School Picnic.
-
You can pre-order the book by 9/14 here: https://pci.jotform.com/form/262425448067158
-
-
Prepaid Gift Cards: Make shopping easy! Parents are encouraged to purchase a Book Fair gift card instead of sending cash or a credit card with your child. Order by 6pm on 9/14: https://www.lindentreebooks.com/imaifall26
-
Teacher Wishlists: Your teachers will get a special preview of the book fair and the chance to pick out a few books for their wishlists. We encourage you to buy a book or 2 to help them grow their classroom collection!
-
Questions? Email our Book Fair lead, Ashveena, at bookfair@imaipta.org.
WELCOME BACK PICNIC: Thu, 9/17, 5-7pm
-
Bring your food and come hang out with other families while the kids spend the evening playing foursquare, bubbles, chalk, or on the playground. And, KONA ICE will be there!!
-
Come stop by the PTA table to learn about upcoming events and how to get involved in supporting your child’s education.
-
We will be distributing the NEW IMAI T-SHIRTS during the picnic—all currently-enrolled students get one for FREE. You can also pick up your adult shirts if you pre-ordered one.
-
The Book Fair will be open. This will be your last chance to shop so swing by the library to check it out!
🍧 SURPRISE: Shaved Ice Days are Here!
You made it to the end, and here’s your reward: starting this week, the KONA ICE truck will be parked outside the school every Thursday (until the weather gets cold) after dismissal!
Cool down, hang out with other school families, and grab a delicious icy treat to kick off the afternoon.
