Hope you had a restful Labor Day Weekend! With the official start of fall, we have many exciting school activities to look forward to. Read below for more information!

THIS WEEK’s HIGHLIGHTS:

• PTA Membership and Donation Drive (+ Popsicle Contest): Join PTA today! Contest ends Sept 21. Consider adding a donation when you join the PTA. And, if available, request an employer match to double your contribution! For step-by-step instructions to join/renew membership and/or donate, see details below.
• MVEF Donation Request: Donate to MVEF today to partner in funding Music, Art, and Science programs. For more information on MVEF, see details below.
• Fall Afterschool (M-F) Programs: Sign ups for some programs still open. Check out the spreadsheet. Please enroll soon and help spread the word to ensure classes remain open. 
• SAVE THE DATE:
  • Friday, Sept 6: Back to School Picnic at Imai, 5-6:30 pm 
  • *NEW* Friday, Oct 18: Parents Night Out (PTA Auction & Fundraiser), 6:30-11 pm at Levi’s Stadium. More details to come. For those new to Imai, check out this quick FAQ. If you’re interested in hosting a party or even to be auctioned off, please fill out this form by Oct 1st.

PTA MEMBERSHIP and DONATION DRIVE (+ Popsicle Contest):

• Why join and donate to PTA? Each year, the Imai PTA spends ~$300+ per student ($150K annual budget) to provide enrichment programs, field trips, teaching materials, community programs, and much more! See link for more details.
  • Our donation goal this year is $40K (+$15K in corporate matching)
  • Suggested donation is $200 per child, but any amount is appreciated!
• How do I join?
  • For new members: 
    • Go to this link and click “Join with email”
    • Enter your name, email, and then create a password. Click “Sign up with Email”
    • For membership type, select “Parent/Guardian” or another appropriate option 
    • Check out with credit card. Membership is just $12 (+$1 convenience fee).
  • To renew your membership:
    • Log into Totem with your email and password
    • Renew your membership
• How do I donate?
  • Via Totem: When you become a member or renew your membership, you can add a donation
  • Via employer giving portal (e.g. Benevity): Search for “Amy Imai Elementary PTA”, Tax ID:77-0492242, and don’t forget to request a match!
  • Via check payable to “Amy Imai Elementary PTA”  
• Anything else? Yes, the classrooms with the highest percent of PTA members by Sept 21 win a popsicle party!  

MVEF DONATION DRIVE: Click here to donate today. Any gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. Our goal this year is 50 Imai families donating to MVEF

• What is MVEF? The Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation led by parent volunteers to maintain and enhance the quality of academics and enrichment in the Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD).
• What does MVEF do? MVEF's goal is to bridge the gap between state funding and the actual cost of providing a well-rounded and comprehensive education for our children. 
• The school district provides the core necessities like teacher salaries, textbooks, and basic supplies.​
• MVEF funds vital programs that make a big difference, like art, music, science programs, smaller English class sizes, and support for sports and clubs.

• *UPDATE* New classes include Math with Arts, Bollywood Dance, and Spanish. Prorate may be available if you enroll in the middle of a session.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT 2024 (PTA Auction & Fundraiser): We are excited to continue our tradition of family, teacher, and classroom-hosted parties. These parties are a fantastic way to support the Imai PTA and connect with our community. How can you help make this year’s event a success?
