News & Reminders |
Weekend updates! Read on to see what's going on this week with our BOOK FAIR, our YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST and other Yearbook deadlines coming up, a recap from our successful WALKATHON, and an opportunity to help a local family hit by tragedy.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR: It's one of our students' favorite events of the year, and it's open for business this week after school (Tues-Fri, 3:00-5:30pm). All sales benefit our school library and books in our kids' classrooms!
- We still need volunteers to keep things running smoothly! Sign up here for a 60- to 90-minute shift. Full details at our Book Fair webpage.
- If you can't make it to the fair in person, you can shop online anytime through March 25!
- Fund your teacher’s e-wallet to support books in their classroom
YEARBOOK: We're still seeking entries for our Yearbook Cover Contest, open for one more day! Student artwork can be submitted to the office or via email by March 21. Our theme is "The Future is Bright" with a lego-block inspiration, but that can be interpreted however the artist chooses. The attached flyer has full design guidelines.
More yearbook tidbits (with full details on our Yearbook webpage):
- We need photos from school/class activities by March 21!
- There's still time to order a yearbook for $25
- Custom pages (included with purchase) must be completed by parents before April 4
WALKATHON RECAP: What a great event it was! We loved seeing so many of you at school during our Walkathon yesterday. It was an extraordinary effort by our devoted little planning team, with great support from many more parents who volunteered during the event. THANK YOU! And we're proud of our students who walked up to 20, 30, or 40 laps around the course.
- Did your walker(s) forget to check out? Email us a photo of the lap card and we'll officially record the laps.
- We welcome your feedback! Please email us with your comments about the walkathon, good or bad. We'll likely be planning another one next school year!
COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR GRIEVING FAMILY: The local support has been strong for the family grieving from losing their teenage son killed in a traffic accident last week. (The student was an alumni of Huff Elementary.) If you'd like to make a cash contribution for the family, the collection box we had at our Walkathon will remain in the school office thru this Wednesday, March 23.
Have a great week!
