Hope you enjoyed an extra hour of sleep as we head into the winter months! Many opportunities to donate in this next week - books, candy, winter clothes - so please take a look in your home and consider how your items may end up being another community member’s treasure! 

THIS WEEK’s HIGHLIGHTS:

• Don’t forget to Vote by Tu, Nov 5! Here are some resources that may be helpful for MVWSD-related issues on the ballot.  
  • Parcel Tax Measure AA:  The District has stated that the revenue from the parcel tax will be used to retain highly-qualified teachers with competitive compensation. Parcel tax revenue may also be used to fund academic programs, as well as support and enrichment to all students. Information on the Parcel Tax Measure, why it is on the ballot, and how it may impact your household can be found at mvwsd.org/parceltax and in FAQ form
  • MVWSD Board of Trustees: The League of Women Voters hosted a candidate forum with 6 candidates who are running for 3 seats on the MVWSD Board (which has 5 members). A recording of the forum can be found here.
  • For information on how to cast your vote, please see the Santa Clara County Register of Voters voters website
• *NEW* Candy Donation by Tu, Nov 5: Do you have leftover Halloween candy to donate? If so, please drop it off in the *brown box* located in Imai school office.
  • Donations will go to the South Palo Alto Food Closet, a nonprofit that distributes food to families in need.
• Fall Book Swap Donations by Fri, Nov 7: Gently used books in good condition accepted at Imai school office
  • Week of Nov 12-15: Pick up books at Imai Parking Lot between 8-8:30 am and 2-5:30 pm

• *NEW* Winter Clothes Donation Drive: Clean and gently used adult, children, and baby winter clothes can be donated to the Imai school office through Fri, Nov 15.

  • Th, Nov 14: Multicultural Potluck Dinner and Bingo Night, 5-7 pm in Imai MUR
