Lunch Time Chess 

You are invited to join Lunch Time Chess with Coach Wolfgang every Wednesday from 12-12:45pm, funded by the PTA. Bay Area Chess (BAC) will bring all the boards and pieces. Come share your passion for the game, encourage friendly matches and create fun memories with our Golden Owls! 

What will you do?

1. Share chess tips: Help our Golden Owls understand how each chess piece moves, share tips and strategies.
2. Encourage friendly matches: Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every student from beginner to expert is welcome to join a game.
3. Have fun: Share your wisdom and passion for the game!

Volunteers are required to provide a valid ID and check in at the front office. Beyond three visits to campus a regular volunteer badge will be required. If you are interested in becoming a regular volunteer, check with president@javargaspta.org about the steps to follow.

*Please note that this invitation is for parents who would like to bring the art of chess closer to the Vargas students and who would enjoy spending their lunch break with the Owls. We do not require volunteers for this activity to happen, but are sure the Owls would enjoy your presence.

The Green Room

We have some more exciting news to share! The Green Room (Musical Theater) is back starting Thursday, March 21.

Does your child love to perform? Do they have an interest in the performing arts that they'd like to further explore? In the Musical Theater program students will work on performing arts skills such as singing, dancing, acting, and much more.

Time: Thursdays from 12:15 - 1:10pm

Dates: 3/21 - 5/6 (no class 4/11)

Grades: 1st - 5th

Cost: $315

* A minimum of 10 students needed for program to run.
