Dear Vargas Families,
As we enter this November season, we are especially grateful for our community! Thank you to all the families who donated goods and cash for Ms Bea’s grocery drive to support our community. Thank you also to all our parent volunteers who help to put on our events and volunteer at events. Go Vargas Golden Owls! Our school calendar is quickly filling up with wonderful ways to celebrate, give back, and support our students. Keep reading for details about the upcoming Winter holiday fair and upcoming fundraisers.

Message for Google Employees- Google’s Holiday Giving (Nov 10-21)
Googlers, did you know employees receive a $400 credit in Benevity (google.benevity.org) to donate to a charity of your choice? Consider donating to the Jose Antonio Vargas PTA during Google's Holiday Giving Campaign from November 10th to 21st. Your PTA contributions will fund student programs this winter such as in-school assemblies, classroom supplies, and field trips. Thank you in advance for your support! PTA Association Meeting - November 19

🎁 Holiday PTA Fundraising
Books, Inc. - Tuesday, December 2
Join us for light refreshments and an evening of browsing for books at Books Inc between 5-9pm. 15% of your purchases will come back to support PTA programs at Vargas. We’ll have a display of books that are on your teacher’s wish lists too, so save your holiday shopping for this event.
Blue Line Pizza - December 2 (11:30am-8:30PM)
Also on December 2 from 11:30am-8:30pm at Blue Line Pizza, 15% of your purchases will come back to Vargas. For online and dine-in orders, use promo code: VargaslovesBLP2025 and click APPLY CODE. See’s Candies - through December 5
Our See's Candies Online Fundraiser is happening NOW and ends on December 5. Every purchase of See’s boxed chocolates, candy bars and more goes to our school. Enjoy sweet treats while supporting a great cause!

❄️ Winter Holiday Fair - Thurs, Dec 11 (5-7pm)
Mark your calendars for the return of the Vargas Winter Holiday Fair, happening Dec 11th (5-7pm) in the MUR, hosted by the PTA.
Students and families can sell their homemade crafts, art, jewelry, tasty treats, and more (perfect for last minute holiday gifts). In addition to the fair, there will be a photo station, crafts, and prize drawings for all. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to earn some extra money for the holiday season, while trying to run their own business.
If your student/family is interested in being a vendor, please sign up for a table by December 5th at the latest, using our online form: https://forms.gle/vLBLtvEYCypNyMXq7 or through the paper sign-up sheet in the office. There will be a small fee for reserving a table. Vendors are encouraged to price their items less than $10, as most shoppers will be elementary school students and their families, paying with cash.
