Happy Sunday, Golden Owls-

This week was a true reflection of our Golden Owl spirit. We came together and showed just how strong our community is when everyone pitches in. It is the team initiative that makes our school so much fun and shine so brightly. These past days were undoubtedly some of the most unforgettable at Vargas as we prepared together to celebrate and honor our amazing principal, Mr. Taylor! This initiative to put a spotlight on someone special brought so much joy, laughter, and inspiration to our campus. It also encourages our young Golden Owls to strive and recognize the strength in community. Looking out and caring for others is a superpower and our kids are lucky to experience this first-hand at Elementary School. The memory of the walk-in and car parade with all the colorful and thoughtful decorations will accompany them through life and maybe inspire them to greater good.

On that note, we would also like to put an appreciating spotlight on those who are at the heart of it all, our PTA leads Kim & Sukie! They planned and made this and many other community events happen with your help (Many hugs to all of our volunteers without whom these events simply wouldn’t have been possible. The special experience lies in togetherness. We appreciate you all and love the community you helped to foster with your commitment.). Kim & Sukie have built a second home on-site through their tireless dedication to bringing everyone together from Walkathon, to Movie Night, Ice Cream Social, Book Fairs, Family Coding Night, afterschool enrichment classes, Trunk or Treat, dine-out fundraisers, assemblies, Vargas Dance Night, International Festival, Campout Night, Talent Show, and more. Their leadership and constant presence are the glue that keeps everything together and running smoothly. We feel so lucky that they’ll be leading us again together with the team below next year!

Feliz domingo, Golden Owls

Esta semana fue un fiel reflejo de nuestro espíritu Golden Owl. Nos unimos y demostramos la fuerza de nuestra comunidad colaborando todos. Es la iniciativa de equipo lo que hace que nuestra escuela sea tan divertida y brille con tanta fuerza. Estos días fueron, sin duda, inolvidables en Vargas, ya que nos preparamos juntos para celebrar y honrar a nuestro increíble director, el Sr. Taylor. Esta iniciativa de destacar a alguien especial trajo mucha alegría, risas e inspiración a nuestro campus. También anima a nuestros jóvenes Golden Owls a esforzarse y reconocer la fuerza de la comunidad. Cuidar y ver por los demás es un superpoder, y nuestros niños tienen la suerte de experimentarlo en primera persona en la escuela primaria. El recuerdo del desfile de entrada y de autos con todas las decoraciones coloridas y consideradas los acompañará toda la vida y tal vez los inspire a hacer un bien mayor.

En ese sentido, también queremos destacar a quienes son el centro de todo: ¡Kim y Sukie, líderes de nuestra PTA! Planificaron e hicieron posible este y muchos otros eventos comunitarios con su ayuda (Un abrazo a todos nuestros voluntarios, sin los cuales estos eventos simplemente no habrían sido posibles. La experiencia especial reside en la unión. Los apreciamos a todos y amamos a la comunidad que ayudaron a fomentar con su compromiso). Kim y Sukie han construido un segundo hogar en el sitio gracias a su incansable dedicación para unir a todos, desde la Caminata hasta la Noche de Cine, la Fiesta de Helados, las Ferias del Libro, la Noche de Programación Familiar, las clases de enriquecimiento extraescolar, el Trunk or Treat, las cenas para recaudar fondos, las asambleas, la Noche de Baile Vargas, el Festival Internacional, la Noche de Campamento, el Concurso de Talentos y mucho más. Su liderazgo y presencia constante son la fuerza que mantiene todo unido y funcionando a la perfección. ¡Nos sentimos muy afortunados de que nos guíen de nuevo junto con el equipo que se menciona a continuación el próximo año!
