Get your flashlights ready – The Spring Book Fair is almost here! Our Vargas Owls are known for their love of reading, especially when inspired with new titles and being surrounded by their Vargas friends. Get ready to light up your child’s imagination at the Scholastic Book Fair, happening April 28 to May 2 in the MUR. This is a fun and meaningful way to support your child’s love for stories and story-telling. A huge Thank You to our wonderful Book Fair team Kristin, Ebru, Christine, and Rachel for building the anticipation with an inviting setup once again! You can explore titles and shop early here: Scholastic Book Fair – JA Vargas The PTA will give each student a $10 voucher to purchase a book from the fair. You'll have access to best-selling books, collections, educational toys, games, and more. We hope to see you there. All purchases benefit our school and teachers.

Square 1 Art Fundraiser — Order deadline: April 25
For this fundraiser Ms. June helped students create a piece of artwork that was submitted by the PTA to Square One Art. They take your child's artwork and transfer it to gift items like coffee mugs, key chains etc. These are great gifts for Mother’s and Father’s Day and other family members!
· Simply search for your child's art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear, and you may order!

Jamba Juice School Sponsorship Contest
JA Vargas has been selected by our local Mountain View Jamba Juice Store for a school sponsorship contest, which is running from now until June 17, 2025. When students and their families make a purchase at the Mountain View location (1037 A, El Monte Ave, Mountain View), ask for a token to vote for our school. At the conclusion of the contest, the winning school, with the most tokens, will receive $500! This is a fantastic way to earn money for our school while enjoying a delicious treat!

At our PTA General Meeting on May 28, we will conduct the election for the Jose Antonio Vargas PTA Executive Board for the 2025-2026 school year; nominees are listed below. Please attend this last PTA meeting of the year to participate in the election.
