Dear Golden Owls,
Thank you for the mind-enriching and delicious journey around the world at Jose Antonio Vargas Elementary. What a beautiful reminder of how much we can learn from one another. A heartfelt THANK YOU to every ambassador who shared their heritage and our tireless event organizers Jennifer, Kim & Sukie for bringing our community together at the 3rd Annual International Festival! In just 120 minutes, we visited 22 countries including Bangladesh, Canada, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, India, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and Venezuela. Our Golden Owls got a hands-on passport to the world, sparking curiosity in new food, games, language, art, and music. At a young age, they were able to joyfully build bridges to cultures they may one day explore even further. We’re filled with sincere gratitude for our global-minded community that helps us all to connect and celebrate our differences. An appreciative Thank You to our inspiring guest speaker, Jose Antonio Vargas, for joining our international celebration and reminding us of the power of listening. His personal journey showed how an open mind and the care and support of a community can empower young people to strive for more, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.
School-wide Playdate, Friday April 18th (4-6pm) — National Animal Cracker Day
Join us this Friday, April 18th, from 4:00pm to 6pm for a Vargas School-wide playdate to celebrate National Animal Cracker Day! Don’t forget to bring your water bottle to stay refreshed. We will provide some Animal Crackers Cookies to keep your energy up and also be selling Vargas School gear. See you on the playground!
New session of afterschool classes
Many afterschool classes have already started. There are two new classes this session: Zumba Kids on Tuesdays and Little Entrepreneurs on Wednesdays! They need a few more sign-ups for the class to continue, so sign-up now if interested!
